Preshow Audio from Death of a Salesman at the Omaha Playhouse

Watch the video
Who listens to preshow music when they go to the theater? Nobody. Here are some of the audio clips that play before each performance of Arthur Miller's "The Death of a Salesman" at the Omaha Playhouse. Journey back to the late 40's ('47-'49) and listen to a little bit of what might have been playing on the livingroom radio.

From Shakespeare to Chekhov to Lerner and Lowe

As part of our year long 85th Anniversary Celebration, a new exhibit has been installed in the Owen Lobby by Playhouse resident designer, Jim Othuse. Over the past year, Jim has combed through hundreds of photographs stored in the Playhouse archives and selected 60 to refurbish and put on display. These black and white and color production shots date from the 1940’s thru the 1980’s and reflect the diversity of production offered by the Playhouse throughout those years. Production information was researched through the archives and printed on cards that accompany each photo, including titles, playwrights, dates, creative staff and community actors pictured.

The exhibit will reside in the owen lobby through the end of the season courtesy of the Douglas County Commissioners and Bob and Janice Batt.
