In the war-torn city of Baghdad, during the first chaotic days of the American invasion, two young marines, an Iraqi gardener-turned-translator, the ghost of Saddam Hussein's son and a world-weary but ravenous tiger prowl the streets. Rajiv Joseph's powerful 2010 Pulitzer finalist is a brutal search for meaning, forgiveness and redemption that exposes humanity's true and often harrowing nature.

Poor Sherry Wickman has tried to do everything right: she's gotten a master's degree in Art Therapy; she's put out countless resumes; she's tried to be independent. Unemployed and overwhelmed, she returns to her childhood home when a job fails to materialize. Joined by a mother who refuses to leave her room and a sister who refuses to get off the couch, Sherry's life has certainly hit an all-time low. Now, if only the high school principal would put down his rifle long enough to hire her, her sister would return the Chihuahua she's dognapped and someone would catch the tiger that's escaped from the zoo, things would be perfect. A delightful comedy about misadventures in pursuit of happiness.

Imagine a life trapped, caged, on display for a gawking public. In the gritty world of a traveling circus, a Pinhead, a Dog-Faced Girl, a Human Salamander and a Woman with No Arms or Legs struggle for a sense of normalcy in the outcast life of a freak. The monstrously grotesque and the poetically sublime clash as this family of misfits threatens to fall apart. But will the end come easily? Are there really any other options for a Freak?

It seems Janice must take matters into her own hands to try to mend the chasm in their lives. Meanwhile, their dilapidated apartment is forming murderous plots of its own…

Karaoke Theatre to Support 21 & Over!

The House of Loom and Bluebarn’s Witching Hour are teaming up to present karaoke theatre to highlight and raise money for OCP’s 21 & Over series. 

Come out to The House of Loom Tuesday, August 28, at 9 p.m. for a fun night of music and drinks as we celebrate the ‘music of the 21^st century’. Don't be afraid to go crazy: wear costumes, create your own choreography or even bring back up dancers. We will be selling raffle tickets for a season subscription and having "bribe the dj", as well as taking cash donations for OCP. All proceeds from the raffle go to the 21 & Over series.
